Tell City, Indiana Christian Glen Poehlein, 61, passed away at 5:00 PM Thursday, April 27, 2006 at his home. Glen was born March 13, 1945 in Perry County, Indiana the son of the late Verden Poehlein and Irene Verlee (Blinzinger) Poehlein who survives. Also preceding him in death was his companion, Bernice Geary and two brothers, Ralph and Ronald Poehlein. Glen had worked at Far Best Foods in Huntingburg and was a U. S. Army veteran serving in Viet Nam and attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. A member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2939 in Tell City, he enjoyed shooting matches, flower gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren. He collected U.S. Army memorabilia especially from the Viet Nam era. Survived by: One son: Mark Poehlein and his wife Debbie, Tell City, Indiana His mother: Irene Verlee (Blinzinger) Poehlein, Cannelton, Indiana One sister: Wanda Weatherholt, Tell City, Indiana One brother: Randall Poehlein and his wife Martha, Cannelton, Indiana Two grandchildren: Stephen and Emily Poehlein Two step grandchildren: Ashley Poehlein and Amy Phelps Three step great grandchildren: Alex Walters and Cody & Austin Wiseman Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday May 1, 2006 at Huber Funeral Home-Tell City Chapel with burial in Log Church Cemetery near Cannelton with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2939. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday and from 9:00 to 11:00 AM Monday at Huber Funeral Home-Tell City Chapel. Rev. Lance Lackore will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2939.
