Charles Wheeler

Tell City, Indiana - Charles W. "Charlie" Wheeler, 79, passed away September 20, 2016. He was born September 19, 1937 in Bristow, Indiana, son of the late William E. and Alma (Clemons) Wheeler. In 2000, Charlie retired from Tell City Chair Company. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus #1172. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, building birdhouses and mailboxes and spending time with his dog, Colton and cat, Tiger. He is survived by his wife Janet Wheeler; daughter, Jennifer Simpson (Todd "Taz"), Cannelton; sons, Chris Wheeler (Nancy), Troy, Jerry Wheeler (Sharon), Tell City, and Jeffrey Wheeler (Edna), Tell City; brothers, Jim Wheeler (Jayne), Kokomo and Curt Wheeler (Sheila), Tell City; grandchildren, Daniel, Brandi, Zoey, Tabatha, and Brittany Wheeler and Ryan Lawalin and two great grandchildren, Madison and Jordan Wheeler. A private burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel is handling his arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, Gentiva Hospice or American Cancer Society.
