Tell City, Indiana Charles H. Riley, 77, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at his home. He was born November 13, 1936 in Perry County, son of the late Kirby and Christina (Layman) Riley. Also preceding him in death was a son, Steven Riley, sister, Laurie King; brothers, Paul, Kirby Eugene, and Charles Edward Riley. Charles was semi-retired from Aquaris Marine, and he was a chief engineer and towboat pilot having worked on all major rivers in the United States. He enjoyed doing mechanic work and spending time with his family. He is survived by his companion; Betty Hunnicutt, Atlanta, GA; daughter, Bonnie Bumm (J.R.), Evanston; sons, Charles "Chuck" Riley (Mary), Derby and Gary Riley (Sherry), Cannelton; sisters, Ethel Duke (Eugene), Regina Hemphfling (Ralph), Tell City, and Dora Senn, Cannelton; brothers, Donald Riley (Karen), Cannelton and Dennis Riley, Beatrice, NE; 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral services are 9:00 AM Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in Chestnut Grove Cemetery. Bro. Arlie Brock will officiate. Visitation will be 3:00 until 7:00 PM Friday and from 8:00 until 9:00 AM Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to Riley's Children Hospital or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
