Tell City, Indiana –
Charles L. Strobel, 86, passed away on February 14, 2024.
He was born in Perry County, son of Frank A. and Henrietta (Waninger) Strobel.
Charlie served his country as a sergeant in the United States Army Reserves and was a member of American Legion Post #213.
He married Barbara Kilian on January 18, 1960, at St. Paul Catholic Church where they continued sharing their faith with their family.
Charlie retired in 2000 from Kroger where he had worked for over 30 years. After retirement, he also worked for Tell City Housing Authority.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Barbara; children, David Strobel of Tell City, Carla Grimwood (Darrin) of Evansville and Scott Strobel (Kim) of Tell City and grandchildren and great grandchildren.
His parents; a brother, Leroy Strobel and brother-in-law, Scott Kilian, preceded him in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Friday, February 16, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Tony Hollowell will officiate.
Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday and from 8:30 until 9:30 AM on Friday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church.
