Charles Hubbard

Tell City, Indiana Charles Eugene "Charlie" Hubbard, 82, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh. He was born in Easton, Maryland on September 24, 1940, son of Roger and Evelyn (Holden) Hubbard. Charlie was a 1958 graduate of Federalsburg High School in Maryland and soon joined the United States Marine Corp where he served in the Far East and Vietnam, returning to Quantico, Virginia. Charlie retired from Aleris, formerly Commonwealth Aluminum, in 1998 after 30 years. He was an avid trap shooter who enjoyed reading and spending time with his family. Charlie truly never met a stranger; he loved to meet new people and enjoyed talking to everyone he would run into. Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Janet (Buckler) Hubbard; daughters, Dawn Baumeister (Charlie) and Robin Katschke (Keith); granddaughters, Shawna Wint (A.J.) and Cassi Kieser (Wes); step grandsons, Kyle Katschke and Luke Katschke; great grandsons Landon and Gabe Wint and Boyd Keiser; niece and nephew, Melissa and Roger Hubbard and his "buddies"- his cats, Louie and Jose. Preceding him in death were his parents, brothers, Hervey and Glenn Hubbard and numerous aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 PM and Thursday 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or any organization of your choice.
