Tell City, Indiana - Charles W. Hinton, 85, passed away February 9, 2018 at his home. He was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on March 12, 1932 to the late William and Catherine (Patton) Hinton. Also preceding him in death was his first wife, Shirley (Drake) Hinton and brothers, Leonard, in infancy, and Edward Hinton. Charles was a Korean War Veteran, where he served in the Army. A Boilermaker, he retired in 1993 from Maxine Marine. He was united in marriage on September 19, 1999 to the former Eva Jones. Charles was a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church, enjoyed gardening and mechanics. Surviving are his wife, Eva Hinton, Tell City; children, Roger Hinton (Debbie), McBride, MI, Charlene Badger (Bruce), Tell City, Nancy Harding (Stanley), Tell City, Ross Hinton (Virginia), Stanton, MI and Arden Hinton (Christy), Evansville; step children, Dan Jarvis (Yvette), Huntington, IN, Ed Jarvis (Patty), Terlton, OK, Rita Dickman (Barry), Newburgh and Tressie James, Tell City; sisters, Joyce Hinton, Tell City and Lois Anna, Riverdale, MI; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST Wednesday, February 14, 2014 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00-7:00 PM and Wednesday 9:00-11:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Deer Creek Cemetery General Fund.
