Charlene Hempfling

Tell City, Indiana - Charlene M. Hempfling, 60, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014, at Perry County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Tell City on September 9, 1953. Her parents were the late Albert and Marjorie (Lahee) Young. A homemaker, she had formerly worked at Tell City Chair Company. Charlene was a member of Chestnut Grove Church of Jesus Christ and enjoyed flower gardening and spending time with her family. Surviving are her daughter, Michelle Newby, Tell City; sons, Albert Hempfling, Tell City and Shawn Hempfling, Oakland City; sister, Beverly Hickman, West Virginia; half sister, Renee Walters, Kokomo; brother, Larry Kellems, Cannelton; grandchildren, Madison Newby and Dillon Eckert and her companion, Bill Powers. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, January 20, 2014, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Chestnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until service time on Monday. Bro. Harold Nix will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Chestnut Grove Church of Jesus Christ.
