Tell City, Indiana Cecil Pekinpaugh, 86, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Oakwood Health Campus. She was born in Perry County, Indiana on January 16, 1931 to the late Oliver and Mary Josephine (Landers) Howell. Also preceding her in death was her husband, John Pekinpaugh in 2002; an infant son, David Lee Pekinpaugh; great grandson, Chet Andrew Strange; and several brothers and sisters. A homemaker, Cecil had worked at General Electric and Fisher Chair Company. She was a member of Lilly Dale Church of Christ and enjoyed reading, traveling to the beach and mountains, playing bingo, visiting friends and socializing, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are her children: Barbara Schaad, Cannelton; Dennis Pekinpaugh (Dee Dea), Oriole; Linda Clark (Gary), Tell City; Karen Mosby (Bob), Evanston; Lori Anderson (Bob), Beaverdam, VA; and Joe Pekinpaugh (Yvette), Magnet. Also surviving are her grandchildren and their families: Johnny Schaad (Jennifer) Austin, Sierra, Beau and Savannah; Stacey Lasher (Vince) Courtney, Brooke and Alyssa; Brittany Edwards (Wes) Cohen, Cason and Crue; Jesse Pekinpaugh (Sharon) Allie and Wyatt; Jennifer Outlaw (Allan) Trevor and Camden; Sarah Waninger, Brayden, Madison, Alaina and Ariana; Paul Waninger; Kristin Johnson (Jim) Aidan and Sophie; Cassie Heeke (Adam) Becca, Owen and Helen; Katie Strange (Adam) Emme; Logan Mosby; Joshua Cronin; Jeremy Cronin, Kaydence, Olivia and Eric; Amber Anderson; Jonas, Megan, Caleb, Jasmine, Toby, Nathanael and Jason Pekinpaugh. Also surviving are two sisters, Vivian Dupont (Raphael), Tell City and Muriel Pekinpaugh, Tell City and a brother, Bill Howell, Bristow. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Burial will follow in Lilly Dale Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00-8:00 PM and Saturday 9:00-11:00 AM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Lilly Dale Cemetery.
