Catherine Waninger

Catherine Waninger, 104, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Oakwood Health Campus. She was born in St. Anthony, March 25, 1909, daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Buechler) Reckelhoff. Catherine was also preceded in death by her husband Robert Waninger in 2002, sisters, Minnie Schentcki, Rose Schwindel, Margaret Heeke, Matilda Loechet and Matilda Reckelhoff in infancy, brothers, Othmer and Gus Reckelhoff and Edward Reckelhoff in infancy. A homemaker, she was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, former member of St. Paul St. Ann Sodality and William Tell Senior Citizens. Catherine is survived by one brother, Edward Reckelhoff, of St. Anthony and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 11, 2014 at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rev. Dennis Duvelius will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 PM Friday and from 8:30 until 9:30 AM Saturday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or St. Mary's Cemetery.
