Tell City, Indiana Carolyn D. Reynolds, 61, of Tell City, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Carolyn was born in Evansville on November 23, 1950, daughter of the late Ralph (Higgie) Hilgenhold and Jessie Roper Hilgenhold. Carolyn was a 1969 graduate of Tell City High School. She was a graduate of Brescia University where she received her degree in secondary education. Carolyn was united in marriage in Tell City, on May 20, 1971 to Roger D. Reynolds, who survives. Carolyn was employed by the Tell City-Troy Township School Corporation at the Junior High School where she taught English and History. A passionate writer, Carolyn published a book, Battling the Monster Within, a collection of her poems and short stories. She was also the founder and editor of an award-winning online magazine, MS Musings. In 2009 she received the Brescia University Distinguished Alumni Award. She was a member of Hilldale United Methodist Church in Hancock County, Kentucky and her great love was spending time with her grandchildren. Carolyn is survived by her husband of 41 years, Roger, her daughter, Emilie Young (Eric), Hawesville, Kentucky, her son, Michael Reynolds, (Alicia), Tell City, Indiana and her five grandchildren, Morgan, Sydney and Jacob Ty Young, Ashton Coultas and Aubrey Reynolds. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Hilldale United Methodist Church in Hancock County, Kentucky with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Tell City. Visitation is from 2:00 - 7:00 PM Tuesday and 9:00 - 10:15 AM Wednesday at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hilldale Church Building Fund.
