Cannelton, Indiana - Carolyn A. Carter, 75, passed away November 29, 2016, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Rome, IN on September, 10, 1941 to the late, Clyde and Ruth (Burns) Harper. Also preceding her in death are sisters, Thelma Terry-Miller, Marjorie Nix, Nancy Bradshaw and Linda Simpson, brothers, Charles "Buddy", Melvin and Paul Harper. Carolyn was the current Vice-President of the Harry G. Myers American Legion Post #142 Ladies Auxiliary and member of IUE Local #808. She enjoyed volunteering at the county election polls and the Perry County Council on Aging. Carolyn was a five year cancer survivor, who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, making crafts and playing bingo. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Freeman ( Keith), Cannelton and son, Ronnie Carter (Janessa), Hawesville; sisters, Daisy James and Brenda Pohl, both of Tell City, Betty Hawkins, Boonville, Wanda Daley, Ft. Wayne and Rose Moore, Eckerty; brothers, Clyde "Eddie" Harper, Troy, Darrell Harper, Tell City and Joe Harper, Cannelton; ten grandchildren, Krystal Hall (Derek), C.J. Carter, Elizabeth Patterson, Toni White (Edward), A.J. , Kendra and Dylan Freeman, Hannah, James and Devin Coon; eleven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM CST, Friday, December 2, 2016, at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. Bro. Brian Adkins will officiate. Burial will follow in Lilly Dale Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00-8:00PM and Friday 9:00-11:00AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.
