Tell City, Indiana Carol Ann Bailey, 91, passed away June 19, 2021, on her birthday, at her home, surrounded by family. She was born in Tell City, Indiana on June 19, 1930, the seventh child of Ross and Lola (Hagedorn) Kellems. Carol Ann was a 1948 graduate of Tell City High School. She had worked for General Electric and retired from Commercial Filters in 1985. She was a devoted member and volunteer of St. Mark Catholic Church and the St. Mark Home Ec Club. Carol Ann was actively involved in Right to Life, where she often attended annual rallies in Washington D.C.. She was a participant and fundraiser for Relay for Life, as she was a two-time cancer survivor of the colon and breast. Carol Ann enjoyed gardening, baking and quilting. She and her husband, Bob, loved to travel and camp in their RV, where they would spend the winter months in Florida and summers at Lake Rudolph. She also enjoyed attending events of her grandchildren. Surviving is her daughter, Kathleen Ann "Kathy" Nilssen (Steve), Evansville; sisters, Ruth Peter, Ireland and Margie Block, Greenwood; a brother, Robert Kellems (Barbara), Terre Haute; grandchildren, Alyssa, Erik, Ethan (Nadine) and Elliott Nilssen and a great-grandson, Benjamin Nilssen. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Robert B. "Bob" Bailey; sister, Mildred Graves and brothers, Eugene, Edgar, Victor and Hubert Kellems. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Noon CDT on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at St. Mark Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Bernie Etienne will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00-7:00 PM and Wednesday 10:00-11:30 AM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or VHS (Vanderburgh Humane Society).
