Rome, Indiana - Carl F. Claycomb, 89, passed away on June 15, 2016, at Harrodsburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. He was born on June 9, 1927, near Rome. His parents were the late Ora and Lizzie (Powers) Claycomb. Also preceding him in death were his wife, Esther (Klueh) Claycomb; daughter, Darlene Lechner and a son, Mike Williams. Carl was a member of Operating Engineers Union Local #181, Rome Masonic Lodge #133, VFW Post #2939, and enjoyed fishing, farming and being involved with community events, especially the Rome Dogwood Festival. He was the co-owner of General Machine and Welding, formerly located in Cannelton. Surviving are his sons, Jim "Doody" Claycomb (Nancy), Salvisa, Kentucky and Carl "Bud" Claycomb (Teri), Mountain Home, Idaho; grandchildren, David Claycomb, Vicki Simons, Christy Jewel, Preston Lechner, Michael Williams, Sarg Williams and Jamie Baker; twelve great grandchildren and several step grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 18, 2016, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Pastor Ann Skiba will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Friday and 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday. There will be a masonic memorial service held at 6:45 PM on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church and Alzheimer's Association.
