Tell City, IN Billy Joe York, 86, passed away peacefully Friday, April 29, 2016 at his home in Tell City, surrounded by loved ones. Bill was born in Chechotah, OK on September 15, 1929 to the late Elmer and Ruth (Moore) York. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Stroud on October 14, 1950 in Union Level, VA. Bill was a member of the Union Iron Worker Local #103 for sixty-three years. He was a member of AirMasters and is a Master Mason with the Switzerland Lodge #122 in Vevay, IN. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, golf, flying planes and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Bonnie; his daughters, Connie (Dick) Freer, Dover, DE; Terri (Rick) Greulich, Tell City, IN; grandchildren, Brian (Amber) Greulich, Tell City, IN; Derek (Jen) Freer, Edmond, OK; Erin (Tom) Gavin, Wilmington, DE; Toni (Matt) Rayburn, Mt. Juliet, TN; Lindsey (Chris) Downer, Milton, DE. He has eleven great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Drew, Jacob, Hadley, Hailey, Elizabeth, Brilynn, Dalton, Dylan, Addie and Ben. He has one sister, Maxine Harness, Harrison, AR. Bill was preceded in death by another sister, Irene Roberts. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, IN with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Jessie Bolin will officiate. Visitation is from 3:00-7:00 PM Monday and 9:00-10:00 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice.
