Betty Vaughn

Tell City, Indiana Betty J. (Powers) Vaughn, 83, passed away January 3, 2018 at the Deaconess Hospice House in Evansville. She was born in Hancock County, Kentucky on September 21, 1934 to the late Junius and Leola "Brownie" (Ray) Powers Betty was united in marriage on October 20, 1951 at Evangelical United Church of Christ to Donald A. Vaughn, who precedes her death in 1993. A graduate of Brescia School of Nursing, Betty worked as a nurse for 35 years at Breckenridge Memorial Hospital in Hardinsburg, KY. Betty was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ and its Women's Guild. Surviving are her children, Donna Saalman (Paul), Debi Morris (Blaine), Douglas Vaughn (Sharon), Lisa Sheard (Steven), Lorie Vaughn and Janet Martin; sisters, Connie Barclay, Iris Pullum, Judy Tindall, Sandy Powers, Margie Hodges, Regina Purcell and Bonnie Powers; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM CST on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Evangelical United Church of Christ. Rev. Noel White and Rev. JT Hills will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Evangelical United Church of Christ or the Perry County, IN Animal Shelter.
