Cannelton, Indiana Betty Jo Maxey, 74, passed away at 5:00 PM Thursday, August 6, 2009 at her home in Cannelton, Indiana. Betty was born in Cannelton, May 6, 1935, daughter of the late Joseph W. Farquhar and Mozelle Blinzinger Farquhar. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Jeffrey Marshall. Betty was a 1953 graduate of Cannelton High School. She was united in marriage at the United Methodist Church on August 15, 1953 to Roy L.. Maxey, who preceded her in death in 1973. Betty retired from CVS Pharmacy. She was later employed at Perry County Solid Waste Management. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Betty was an avid sports fan, especially following her favorite team, Indiana University. She also enjoyed following her grandchildren in their sporting events. Betty is survived by four daughters, Vicki Brumfield, Cannelton, Indiana Pam Hess, Cannelton, Indiana Barb Rudolph, Cannelton, Indiana Terri Conder, Hawesville, Kentucky One son, Eric Maxey, Owensboro, Kentucky One brother, Bill Farquhar, Bloomington, Indiana Twelve grandchildren, Gary Brumfield, Josh Marshall, Melissa Embry, Ryan and Neil Hess, Mary Beth Lane, Laura Rudolph, Miranda, Michael and Carli Mosby, Jenna Maxey and Savannah Dowell There are eleven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, August 9, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Cannelton, Indiana with burial in New Cliff Cemetery. Rev. Paul Alvey and Rev. Ann Skiba will officiate. Visitation is from 2:00 - 8:00 PM Saturday and 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM Sunday at Huber Funeral Home, 129 N. 6th Street, Cannelton, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be given to the United Methodist Church or the Visiting Nurse Association.
