Tell City, Indiana
Elizabeth L. “Betty” Goffinet, 74, passed away February 6, 2025, at Norton Clark Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
She was born in Leopold on February 8, 1950, to the late John Michael and Celine M. (Goffinet) Kelly.
“Betty Lou” was a 1968 graduate of Perry Central High School and was united in marriage to Daniel R. Goffinet on July 27, 1968, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Leopold. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.
She retired from Branchville Correctional Facility where she was employed for over twenty years. She also worked at Tell City Chair Company and Perry Central’s cafeteria. Betty was a cook at Marcy’s Restaurant and was especially known for her baking and delicious desserts.
In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, playing cards, canning, hand stitching quilts, baking, cooking for her family and telling stories. Betty Lou was best known for her quick wit, love for her family, was proud of her Irish heritage and adored her dog, Butters. She liked to visit with others and always brought laughter to any conversation. And certainly, no one ever left her house hungry.
