Bernice M. Lasher, 84, died Monday, July 12, 2004 at Northwoods Good Samaritan Home in Jasper, IN. Bernice was born near Apalona, Indiana on July 6, 1920, daughter of the late John E. Flamion and Edna K. Harbaville Flamion. She was united in marriage at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Leopold, Indiana on November 10, 1938 to Alvin Lasher who preceded her in death in 1979. Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Curtis Flamion, a sister, Gladys Ubelhor , a son-in-law, Eugene Gentry and two infant grandchildren, Patrick and Patricia Bender. A lifelong homemaker, Bernice enjoyed reading, quilting, gardening and spending time outdoors. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. She is survived by four daughters, Ruth Ann Gentry, Huntingburg, Indiana, Alene M. Dauby and her husband Joe of Tell City, Indiana, JoElla Evrard and her husband Fred of New Boston, Indiana, Phyllis K. Bender and her husband John of St. Meinrad, Indiana, one sister, Emogene Rogier, St. Croix, Indiana, seventeen grandchildren, Michael E., Christopher A., Dennis W. and Vincent A. Gentry, Elizabeth Ann Dahlen, Laura A. Morgan, Kevin, Jim, Neil and Cindy Dauby, Amy Ramsey, Angela Hamric, Lisa Hauser, Melissa Hoffman, Vicki Bolin, Sara Vaal and Andrew Bender and 30 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 16 at St. Isidore Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 PM Thursday and 9-10 AM Friday at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, Indiana. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday at Huber Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Isidore Catholic Church, Alzheimers Association or Northwoods Good Samaritan Home.
