Cannelton, Indiana Benjamin M. Rudolph, 73, of Cannelton, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 at his family upholstery shop in Cannelton. Ben was born in Perry County, Indiana on February 29, 1936, son of the late Martin Rudolph and Mary Pyle Rudolph Middleton. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Rudolph. Ben was united in marriage on August 3, 1990 to the former Rosalie Alvey Howell who survives. He was a United States Marine Corp. veteran and served in Korea. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Harry G. Myers American Legion Post #142 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2939. Before retirement, Ben was a self-employed contractor, and continued to work with his wife and daughter in Rosie's Upholstery Shop in Cannelton. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, four-wheeling, gardening, building furniture, vacationing, attending family get-togethers and being with his dog, Sophie. Ben is survived by his wife of eighteen years, Rosie Two daughters, Debbie Howell, Cannelton, Indiana Carol Genet, Bowling Green, Kentucky Two sons, Steve Howell, Derby, Indiana Tony Howell, Evansville, Indiana Two brothers, Charles Rudolph, Cannelton, Indiana Donald Rudolph, Carmel, Indiana Three sisters, Ruth Ann Goodman, Hatfield, Indiana Wanda Stephens, Princeton, Indiana Ethel Marie (Tinker) Smith, Owensboro, Kentucky Five grandchildren, Brandy Genet, Dawn Poole, Jeremy Howell, Michael and Joseph Morrow Thirteen great grandchildren A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, May 18, 2009 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Cannelton with Rev. Barnabas Gillespie OSB presiding. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery where the Cannelton American Legion and the V.F.W. will conduct military graveside rites. Visitation is from 3:00 - 8:00 PM Sunday and 8:30 - 9:30 AM Monday at Huber Funeral Home, 129 N. 6th Street, Cannelton, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church Restoration Fund.
