Tell City, Indiana Barbara Jean Goffinet, 80, passed away September 12, 2022. She was born on February 12, 1942 in Bristow, daughter of Murl William and Anna Cecelia (Lutgring) Flamion. Barbara recently retired from SIRS after 30 years. She started her career with the Perry County Auditor's Office under Russell Cassidy, when the courthouse was located in Cannelton. She then served under Margie Rhodes, and later served two terms as Perry County Auditor for a total of 20 years of service. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening, canning, farming, playing cards and was the biggest fan of her granddaughters sporting and school events. She enjoyed time with family and her dogs, Tutu and J.J. Surviving is her son, Mark A. Goffinet and wife, Pam, Tell City; brother, Bill Flamion (Barbara), Tell City; granddaughters, Kayla Goffinet and Lynsay Peter (Marcus) and her first great grandchild due this week. Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband of 59 years, Allen F. Goffinet in 2020. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM CDT on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Bristow. Rev. Luke Waugh will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 20, 2022 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel and Wednesday from 9:00-11:00 AM at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Isidore Catholic Church or SIRS.
