Arthur Alvey, Sr.

Arthur Alvey, Sr., 85, passed away on March 25, 2025, at Brickyard Health Care in Tell City.

He was born on February 23, 1940, to the late Russell and Ada (Taylor) Alvey.

He was a self-employed carpenter that enjoyed woodworking, fishing, farming and trading. Arthur loved to travel and visit friends and family.

Surviving are his children, Arthur “Artie” Alvey, Jr., Kevin Alvey and Kathy Swaney (Doyle); brothers, Doug Alvey and Gene Alvey; sisters, Violet Buchanan (Duane) and Mildred Flamion (Joe) and several grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Karen Highsmith and siblings, Martha Coultas and James and Lorene Alvey, in infancy.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM CDT on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Burial will follow in Lilly Dale Cemetery. Pastor Clarence Enmen will officiate. 

Visitation will be on Monday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
