Arlin Saalman

St. Croix, Indiana - Arlin E. "Bud" Saalman, 81, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at his home. He was born in St. Croix on March 3, 1931. His parents were the late John D. and Lillian E. (Keilman) Saalman. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Dorothy Lynch. Arlin graduated from Oil Township High School in 1949. He was a Korean War veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Military Police. Arlin retired in 1985, as a machine operator, from Delco Remy in Anderson. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball and Indiana University basketball fan. He enjoyed deer hunting and making maple syrup with his neighbor, Denny Goldman. Arlin is survived by his sister, Dolores Kellems, Tell City and a brother, Loren Saalman, St. Croix. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Walker Cemetery in Branchville. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Monday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Walker Cemetery, where there will be military graveside rites conducted by the American Legion Post #213.
