Cannelton, Indiana Anna B. "Sis" Smith, 94, passed away May 3, 2017 at Golden Living Center in Tell City. She was born in Tell City on March 16, 1923, daughter of the late George and Lilly (Tabor) Miller. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Earl W. Smith; siblings, Kenwood, Leroy, George, and Harold Miller and Juanita Purdy. Sis was a 1941 graduate of Tell City High School. She had worked at the Perry County Assessor's Office and also in the Troy Township Assessor's Office. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, St. Ann's Society, Daughters of Isabella, Harry G. Myers American Legion Auxiliary #142 and VFW Post #2939 Auxiliary. Sis was a volunteer for many years, especially at Beverly Healthcare, now Golden Living Center. She was faithful in taking communion to the sick. She enjoyed her clown ministry, reading, collecting dolls and visiting with family and friends. She is survived by her children; Wayne Smith (Sharon), Easley, S.C., Shelley Lawalin (Steve), Cannelton and Mark Smith, Cannelton; grandchildren, Jodi Hodes (Garrett), Lily Spencer (Stephen), Stephanie Strahl (Aaron) and Stacy Mathes (Adam Freiberger) and great grandchildren, Maxwell Hodes, Clara Hodes, Kassidy Strahl, Kylie Mathes, and Khloe Mathes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 8, 2017, at St. Michael Catholic Church with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Rev. Sengole Thomas G. will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 6:00 PM on Sunday and from 8:30 until 9:30 on Monday at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. There will be a D of I service at 6:00 PM on Sunday evening, followed by praying a rosary. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Cemetery or Golden Living Center's Resident Council Activity Fund.
