Anna Carter

January 10, 1925 — April 20, 2012

Cannelton, Indiana Anna L. Carter, 87, passed away Friday April 20, 2012 at Perry County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Tobinsport, January 10, 1925 daughter of the late Harold and Lydia (Hall) Polk. Also preceding her in death was a sister, Mary Ramsey and brothers, Alfred and Frederick Polk. Anna was a 1943 graduate of Cannelton High School. She was united in marriage May 20, 1945 in Hawesville to Victor F. Carter. Anna was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Cannelton. She retired in 1987 from William Tell Woodcrafters after 30 years. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, gardening, her cats, and spending time with her grandchildren. Anna is survived by her husband of 67 years, Vic ""Little Vic"" Carter, son, Bary Carter (Sharon), Tell City, 3 grandchildren, Diane Alvey (Kevin), Chris Carter (Rhonda), and Dan Carter (Aislin), 6 great grandchildren, Tyler Carter, Devin Alvey, Chelsea Eddleman, Kendall Carter, Matthew Alvey and Kaden Carter. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in Serenity Hills in Hawesville, KY. Rev. Mike Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday and from 9:00 AM until service on Tuesday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ.
