Santa Claus, Indiana Amanda Faye Harper, 28, of Santa Claus, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2009 at University of Louisville Hospital, Louisville, Kentucky. Amanda was born in Tell City on July 11, 1980, daughter of the late Melvin Harper and Sherri Sims Harper. Amanda was raised by her great aunt and uncle, Violet Sims Dowell and the late James Dowell. She was also preceded in death by her grandfather, Clarence ""Red"" Sims. She attended St. Paul Elementary School and was a 1998 graduate of Tell City High School. She had been employed at Styline Industries, Huntingburg, Indiana. Amanda was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Fulda Sportsman Club. She enjoyed playing euchre, darts and spending time with friends. Amanda is survived by her fiance, Cliff Gelarden of Santa Claus, Indiana Her great aunt who raised her, Violet Sims Dowell, Cannelton, Indiana One sister, Nikki Harper, Tell City, Indiana One brother, Jason Harper, Phoenix, Arizona Grandparents, Jim and Linda Pannett, Tell City, Indiana Great Grandmother, Marie Wiseman, Tell City, Indiana Four nieces and one nephew, several aunts and uncles Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, February 26, 2009 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City with burial in Lilly Dale Cemetery, Gatchel, Indiana. Rev. Timothy Sweeney will officiate. Visitation is from 3:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday and 8:30 - 9:30 AM Thursday at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, Indiana where a parish prayer service will be held at 5:30 PM Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Lilly Dale Cemetery.
