Alvina Brown

Tell City, Indiana Alvina E. Brown, 88, of Tell City, passed away Saturday, October, 27, 2007 at Perry County Memorial Hospital. Alvina was born in Jamestown, North Dakota on August 25, 1919, daughter of the late Henry Kraus and Clothilda Luecke Kraus. She was united in marriage on May 2, 1939 at St. Mark Catholic Church to Robert F. Brown, who preceded her in death in 1992. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lisa Allen, two sisters, Ruth Mosby and Anna Mae Michel, two brothers, Ralph and John Kraus. Alvina was employed at General Electric over twenty years before her retirement in 1972. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and St. Paul Catholic Church, where she was a quilter for many years with the St. Paul Ladies Quilting Group. Alvina enjoyed bingo, playing cards, traveling and fishing. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Connie and Joe Neyenhaus, Tell City, Indiana Phyllis and Aaron Addison, Evansville, Indiana Three sons and their wives, James and Darlene Brown, St. Croix, Indiana Delbert Brown, Tell City, Indiana Dale and Rosa Brown, St. Croix, Indiana Two sisters, Eileen Metz, Boonville, Indiana Clara Anslinger, Evansville, Indiana One brother, Dennis Kraus, Boonville, Indiana 15 Grandchildren 31 Great Grandchildren 3 Great Great Grandchildren Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City with burial in St. Mary Cemetery. Rev. Timothy Sweeney, O.S.B. will officiate. Visitation is from 3:00 - 8:00 PM Monday and 8:00 - 9:30 AM Tuesday at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, Indiana where a parish prayer service and Daughters of Isabella memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Research or St. Mary Cemetery.
