Allen Poehlein , Sr.

Cannelton, Indiana Allen Lee Poehlein Sr., 77, passed away Wednesday January 2, 2013 at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Tell City. Allen was born September 5, 1935 in Perry County, IN son of the late Walter Lee and Rachel (McCallister) Poehlein. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Margaret Poehlein, two sisters, Genevieve Harrison and Elda Kessens and a brother Walter Poehlein Jr. A retired self- employed mechanic, he was a US Army veteran serving in Korea and a past commander of VFW Post # 2939 in Tell City. He is survived by his son, Allen "Rusty" Poehlein Jr (Robin), Lillian, Texas, Two daughters, Barbara Wade, Steadman, NC and Rosalie. two step daughters, Diane and Debbie and a step son Paul. 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Friday January 4, 2013 at Chestnut Grove Cemetery with military rites by VFW Post #2939. Memorial contributions may be made to Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
