Allen Kellems

Cannelton, Indiana Allen D. Kellems, 79, passed away August 10, 2018 at his home. He was born in Cannelton, Indiana on June 29, 1939 to the late Jesse and Violet Marie (Lawrence) Kellems. Also preceding him in death was his wife Anna Faye (Harrison) Kellems and brothers, Casper, in infancy and Raymond Kellems, the first casualty from Perry County during the Vietnam War. Allen was a U.S. Army Veteran. He retired as a foreman from Schwab Safe Company. He enjoyed watching westerns and Cincinnati Reds baseball, bass fishing, hunting and was an avid outdoorsman. Surviving are his children, Connie Patmore, Tell City, Gina Labhart (Tom), Tell City and Debra Kellems, Cannelton; sisters, Joan Allen, Greensburg, IN, Rose Thomas, Cannelton and Pansy Wright, Birdseye; brothers, Don Kellems (Marilyn), Tell City and Charles Kellems (Mary), Birdseye; eight grandchildren, Ryan and Zach Patmore, Logan and Lucas Labhart, Tabatha Estes, Krisstina, Christopher and Alexis Little; and one great-grandchild, Laken Patmore. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM CST Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. Rev. Arlie Brock will officiate. Burial will follow in Chestnut Grove Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #213. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00-7:00 PM and Tuesday 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post #213.
