Allen Goffinet

July 2, 1939 — June 13, 2020

Tell City, Indiana Allen F. Goffinet, 80, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020. He was born July 2, 1939, son of the late Irvin M. and Olive K. (Dupont) Goffinet. A lifelong Perry County farmer, Allen had also worked at Perry County Highway Department, managed the K of C and retired from Perry Central Community Schools, in 2008, where he was a bus driver for 34 years. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, where he had been chairman of the parish shooting match for several years. Allen had many hobbies and enjoyments, including playing euchre, hunting, fishing, golf, camping and even shopping! He had a bunch of trophies from pitching horseshoes, listened to country music, loved his Ford trucks and was an avid U.K. fan. He was very proud of his granddaughters for both graduating from college and choosing to work in the medical field. Evidently, Allen's dogs, Buddy and J.J (Basenji breed) were liked more by him than by others in the family. Allen and his wife, the former Barbara Flamion, were hoping to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary in August. They were married at St. Joseph Catholic Church near Ranger on August 20, 1960. Also surviving him is a son, Mark Goffinet, his wife Pam and their daughters, Kayla and Lynsay (Marcus Peter). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Friday, June 19, 2020, at St. Isidore Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Luke Waugh will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 on Thursday at Huber Funeral Home and on Friday from 9:00 AM until service time at church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Isidore Cemetery.
