Tell City, Indiana - Alice I. Brown, 96, passed away on December 26, 2015, at Oakwood Health Campus. She was born in Cloverport, Kentucky, on February 24, 1919. Her parents were the late Andrew R. and Katie B. (McKaughan) Crawford. Also preceding her in death were her husbands, Earl Fuchs and Melvin Brown and a brother, William D. Crawford. Alice was a member of First Baptist Church and played the organ and piano there for over 50 years. She enjoyed playing cards and being part of the church's missionary circle and music programs. Alice had been a Baptist evening fellowship teacher in years past. Surviving are her daughters, Carolyn Boster, Henderson, Kentucky, Lula Mae Downing, Aurora, Colorado and Patty Royer, Tell City; sons, David Earl Fuchs, Evansville and Paul Brown, Tell City; brother, Jim Crawford, Tell City; step son, Larry Brown, Hammond; twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at First Baptist Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Lee Brown will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Wednesday and from 8:30 until 9:30 on Thursday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alice Brown Music Fund at First Baptist Church.
