Alfred Wittman

Evanston, Indiana Alfred B. Wittman, 77, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Oakwood Health Campus. He was born in Evanston, September 20, 1940, son of the late Alvin and Matilda (Polster) Wittman. Also preceding him in death were his brothers, Edward and Rueben Wittman and sister, Leoma Welsh. He graduated from Dale High School and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of Boonville VFW Post #3418 and St. John's Lutheran Church, where he had been a deacon and on the church council. He enjoyed being outdoors, building birdhouses and was thankful to be able to live on his home place. Alfred was a lifelong Spencer County farmer, and had worked at Swain Industries and Tell City Chair Company. Surviving are nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM CST Saturday, April 21, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Rodney Schmeltz will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 PM Friday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel and Saturday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church.
