Ada Beard

Tell City, Indiana Ada M. Beard, 91, passed away Monday, July 20, 2009 at Perry County Memorial Hospital. Ada was born in Perry County, Indiana on September 24, 1917, daughter of the late Claude Sandage and Caroline Howe Sandage. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Gilbert Beard in 1969, two sisters, Betty Sandage and Mae Mullis, two brothers, Omer and Robert Sandage. Ada retired on October 1, 1982 from General Electric where she was employed for thirty-one years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Order of Easter Star # 272. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and cooking for her family. Ada is survived by two daughters, Jane Reed and her husband, Raymond of Cannelton, Indiana Carolyn Bruner and her husband, Donald of Tell City, Indiana One son, William Beard and his wife Rosemarie, Stockbridge, Georgia Three sisters, Imogene Stroud, Indianapolis, Indiana Mary McKim, Lafayette, Indiana Faye Foster, St. Meinrad, Indiana One brother, William Murl Sandage, Bristow, Indiana Seven grandchildren, Kathy Cottingham, Stephen Reed, Brian and Matthew Bruner, Gabriella, Michael and Tony Beard Seven great grandchildren, Darrin Reed, Sydney, Alex, Seth Bruner, Jeremy Piamonte , Jason and Jacob Beard and one step-great granddaughter, Dreama Nicole Reed. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 24, 2009 at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, Indiana with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Ron Willis will officiate. Visitation is from 3:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday and 9:00 - 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home where the Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service at 6:30 PM Thursday. Memorial contributions may be given to First United Methodist Church, Tell City or the American Cancer Society.
