Steven Batie

Tell City, Indiana Steven Ray Batie, 74, formerly of Tell City, passed away on May 31, 2023 at his home in Lebanon, Tennesse. He was born to Raymond and Jean (Webb) Batie on September 26, 1948. Steve was a Vietnam Army veteran and he retired after 30 years from American Energy Power, formerly Indiana and Michigan Power, in Rockport. Steve loved to be outdoors, horseback riding, grilling or spending time with his grandchildren. He liked to tinker on cars and had a love for stock car racing, where he raced and owned a stock car with his brother-in-law, Jack and friend, the late Bruce Paulin. Surviving are his children, Amy Batie, Lewisport, KY and Scot Batie (Tina), Lebanon, TN; sister, Barbara Masterson (Jack), Cannelton and grandchildren, Colt Batie, Brittney Thomas (Nathan White), Kaitlyn Wheatley (Steven) and Wyatt Hays. Preceding him in death was his wife, Vickie (Hayden) Batie, in 2012; a daughter in infancy, Julie Kathleen and his parents. Funeral services will be at Noon on Monday, June 5, 2023 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Pastor Jack Masterson will officiate. Burial with military rites to follow in St. Mark's Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00 PM -4:00 PM CDT and Monday from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans or the American Heart Association.
