Ruth Huff

Tell City, Indiana - Ruth Huff, 95, passed away on December 31, 2016, at Oakwood Health Campus. She was born in Tell City, IN on January 20, 1921, to the late James E. and Rosa M. (Anderson) Hinton. Also preceding her in death was her husband, John Huff, in 1970; sisters, Lilly Hinton, Mary Wallenmeyer, Lucille Kelly, Adah Blinzinger and Frieda Dauby Seabolt; and brothers, Bill, Earl, John and Kenneth Hinton. Ruth was a member of First Baptist Church in Tell City. She had worked for General Electric, retiring in 1986. She enjoyed reading, working in her yard, flower gardening and watching IU basketball. Surviving are her children, Don Huff (Susan), Jeffersonville and Janice Reid (Bill), Tell City ; a sister, Alice Criss, Lamar; grandchildren, Mike Huff (Erin), Sandra Block (David), Jim Huff (Ann), Paul Huff (Kim), William Huff, Jason Huff, Jennifer Beavin (Josh), Aren Capps (Tim) and Craig Wheatley (Amy); twenty great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM CST Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at First Baptist Church, with burial following in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00-7:00 PM and Tuesday 9:00-10:30 AM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church.
