Paul Schroeder

Tell City, Indiana - Paul M. Schroeder, 80, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017, alongside his family at his home. He was born in Perry County on June 22, 1936, son of the late Leslie G. and Myrtle E. (Dauby) Schroeder. Also preceding him in death were his brothers, Alfred Schroeder and Kenneth Schroeder. Paul was united in marriage on May 6, 1961, to Rita Luecke at St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church in New Boston. A United States Army veteran, he enjoyed helping his son farm, going for walks, watching sports and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Paul was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. He retired from the Perry County Highway Department and had also worked for Perkins Furniture Transport. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Rita Schroeder; sons, Steve Schroeder (Becky); Duane Schroeder (Tracy); brother, Glen Schroeder; grandchildren, Isaac Schroeder (Kyla), Olivia Tempel (Jon) and Travis Wilson; great grandchildren, Karina Wilson, Clyde and Carter Schroeder and Howard Tempel and his girls, Sandy Sandage and Rhonda James. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 PM CDT on Monday, June 5, 2017, at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary Cemetery where there will be military rites. Visitation will be from 12:00 until 6:00 PM on Sunday and from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM on Monday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Cemetery or Heart to Heart Hospice.
