Nancy Wheeler

Nancy L. Wheeler, 75, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2024, surrounded by her family.


She was born in Perry County on March 11, 1949, daughter of David Lloyd and Alice (Mills) Kowal.


At a young age, Nancy moved to Arizona with her mother and recently returned to Tell City to be near her family and friends who she had dearly missed but always loved spending time with. Every day, she looked forward to playing with her furry friend, Sugar. Nobody could take the place of that little dog.


Nancy enjoyed crafts and was quite talented at making them, even having her own shop when she lived in Arizona.


Surviving is her mother, Alice Kowal, Tell City; a sister, Janice Songer (Curt), of Dale; brothers, Ron Lloyd (Brenda) and Daniel Lloyd (Terri Ward), all of Tell City; nieces and nephews, Scott Schank, New York, Traci Simpson, Georgia, Danny Van Lloyd, Tell City, Collen Lloyd of San Diego, Kim Williams, Tim Baumeister and John Baumeister, all of Tell City; step siblings, Greg Simpson (Roxanne) and Marie McManaway (Jim), all of Tell City and Vicky Watkins (Bob), Laconia, IN and several great nieces and nephews that will miss her.


Nancy is preceded in death by her father, David Lloyd; and step brothers, Chuck and Bob Simpson.


A Celebration of Nancy’s Life will be held at 10:30 AM CDT on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Tell City’s First Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Keith Messick will officiate.
