Don Staples

Tell City, Indiana Don Staples, 87, passed away August 27, 2015 at Oakwood Health Campus. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, April 23, 1928, son of the late Arthur and MaryBelle (Taylor) Staples. Don graduated from Lewisport (KY) High School and was united in marriage on July 29, 1950 in Derby to Leona Mogan. He retired in 1975 from General Electric, was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Don is survived by his wife of 65 years, Leona Staples; daughter, Diane Staples Steinsberger (Harry), Knoxville, Tennessee; sons, Rick D. Staples (Becky), Mason, Ohio and Larry A. Staples (Sheila), Westchester, Ohio; grandchildren, Gina Burch (Paul), Jeff Steinsberger (Nicole), Chad, Sam and Koby Staples, Ashley and Amanda Staples; great grandchildren, Garrett, Lilah and Ada Burch and Emma Jo Steinsberger and a cousin, June Martel, Detroit, Michigan. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Lewisport Cemetery in Lewisport, KY. Pastor Samuel Padgett will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church.
