Asa Hockenberry

Cannelton, Indiana Asa ""Jody"" Hockenberry, 33, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. He was born in Tell City June 22, 1977, son of Mildred Mary (Wiederkehr) Highfill who survives him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Francis Wiederkehr and Pete and Irene Hockenberry. He married Dawn Marie Schraner on October 17, 2008 in Rapid City, South Dakota. Jody enjoyed playing and watching basketball and football, playing video games, listening to music, traveling, skateboarding and spending time with his niece and nephews. He is survived by; wife Dawn Hockenberry, Holland; mother and step-father, Charles and Millie Highfill, St. Meinrad; step-daughter, Megan Nies, Tobinsport; grandmother, Bertha Wiederkehr, St. Meinrad; step-grandparents, Eugene and Mary Alice Highfill, Tell City; sister, Amy Aders, Bristow; nephews, Jacob Vinson and Ashtin Aders and niece, Morgan Hessig. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Troy City Cemetery. Rev. Earl Wayne Miller will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday and from 9:00 AM until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
